This plan is all predicated on the foundation of local residents taking public transit, walking, and cycling. As I have screamed until blue in the face while a member of the Clairemont Community Planning Group and Clairemont Town Council, it ain’t going to happen folks. Every day like a Swiss Railroad, rain or shine, I walk the five miles round trip to Trader Joes.
I have never in fifty years seen a neighbor do the same and the buses are empty. I’m only 72 so I realize it may be difficult for a 98-year-old. The community of Clairemont is looking at a catastrophic traffic nightmare. There will be unprecedented gridlock, mental breakdowns, and countless hours squandered idling in traffic for hours. Someone relieve the captain of this shop in distress.
