REGARDING: “S.D. rethinks how to gauge park equity” LOCAL B1 (11.29)

Open Letters San Diego Union-Tribune, Politics | 0 comments

The critical component to park equity and services is to attend to the needs of an aging population. Seniors need more than bingo and bridge. They need motivation to get off medication and out of their cars. This can be achieved by example. Our leaders must walk and not talk. San Diego ought to promote a senior games where older folks can simply walk on a track. The city could award medals to participants and even financial incentives. After all, healthy people are generally not a burden but an asset, so lets go!
