The unintended consequences of actions by SDPD in closing Interstate 5 for eight hours must be addressed by public policy decision makers. Notwithstanding the actions of that fateful day, sitting in traffic can kill you. While San Diego continues to over build and hence continues to create more traffic jams, we are essentially killing ourselves. Unless local leaders find a way to mitigate and eliminate traffic jams throughout our city, we will see increased mortality rates and a worsening of health spans within society.
