The truth remains that very few are hostile to the homeless. But many are frustrated by the homeless. When a society allows for the mentally ill, the drug addicts, the derelicts, and those who simply want to live on our public streets for the past forty years, one becomes tired and frustrated at this immorality. Mr. Higgins has failed to conceptualize this social issue in totality. He fails to mention the drain on public resources, the danger to society, not to mention our moral responsibility in getting the downtrodden off our streets.
